20 years of Riad Fes Baraka

In 2006, the first travelers crossed our threshold. At that time, Fez remained discreet, mysterious, authentic. Creating a riad here was a gamble, but also a natural choice.
Twenty years later, in 2026, the Riad Fès Baraka continues to write its story with those who enter it.

A story of passion and patience

Twenty years ago, an old house stood silently waiting in the heart of the ancient medina of Fez. Nothing was really planned, then there was a glance, an emotion, a spark of inspiration. The idea was simple: to breathe new life into this house without ever betraying its soul.

For three years, the master craftsmen of Fez have shaped every detail with patience, respect and passion:

  • Traditional zellige tiles assembled piece by piece.
  • Hand-carved cedar wood.
  • Traditional gebs (carved stucco).
  • Hammered copper.

Little by little, the house was transformed. Light entered, water returned to its place, and the patio became the beating heart of the riad.

More than a hotel, a home open to Fez

Riad Fès Baraka was never conceived as a simple hotel. It is a home open to Fez, its culture, and its hospitality. For two decades, travelers from all over the world have shared this dwelling. Some left with memories, others returned as friends.

Because here, people don't just come to stay: they come to feel, to slow down, to listen to Fez breathe. And perhaps that's what "Baraka" means: a stroke of luck, a blessing, an invisible presence that transforms a house into a refuge.

20 years later: respecting traditions

Twenty years later, the spirit remains exactly the same. Attention to detail, respect for tradition, and a genuine desire to welcome guests still guide our daily lives. Some houses provide shelter, others leave a lasting impression. Our riad, boutique hotel, and spa strives, day after day, to be among those that truly make a lasting impression.
